Michigan has lost it's third commitment, and second from the 2018 class, in about 24 hours as Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson four-star offensive guard Jalil Irvin has tweeted that he is opening things back up.

Irvin committed to Michigan not long after being offered and called U-M his "dream school". He used the same term to describe Michigan in his decommitment note and insisted that the Maize and Blue will still be a strong contender for his services moving forward.

Irvin has family connections to Michigan which gave him the strong urges to commit back in May.

"I’m 15 right now and we moved to Georgia from Michigan when I was about six," Irvin said. "My mom was about to lose her job as a teacher in Detroit because they were laying everyone off. I like Georgia a lot but I always wanted to come back home. I’ve been claiming Michigan since I was in the sixth grade. It’s been my dream to go there."

That dream is no more, at least for now, and Irvin will consider all options moving forward. Besides Michigan only Illinois and Tulane have offered the four-star guard so it'll likely be a while before Irvin makes another decision.

The 6-4, 265-pounder is the No. 5 offensive guard and No. 141 overall prospect in the country for the 2018 class.
