Johnson Runs Wild In Win

HARPER WOODS, Mich. - He's not the biggest player on
the roster for Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's, but Friday night,

junior running back Ryan Johnson was the biggest part of a
rushing attack that dominates the offensive playbook for the
Eaglets. Johnson helped lead the Division III state champs to a
56-26 win over Chandler Park Academy.
PERFORMANCE: Just 5-9, 164 pounds, Johnson isn't
going to wow anyone when he steps off the bus, but he will when he
gets the ball in his hands. Low to the ground, strong and
well-balanced, and possessing 4.4-speed, Johnson tore through the
CPA defense all night long Friday.
He needed just eight carries to rack up 151 yards rushing
(18.9-yard average) and three touchdowns of 36, 37, and 51. His
speed was on full display with such long touchdown runs and his
vision was also very apparent and impressive.
RECRUITING WRAP: Johnson awaits his first offer
but attention is starting to come his way. Up to this point,
Johnson described his recruitment as "okay", an expected
description until that first offer comes. Arizona State and Duke
are two teams that are showing some interest and over the summer
Johnson checked out Ohio State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Penn
State, and Arizona State.
He went to the Arizona State camp over the summer and performed
well. He ran 40 time of 4.43, which caught the interest of Sun
Devil head coach Todd Graham. Johnson has a great skill set for
the wide-open offenses of the Pac 12 but many teams surely would
be able to find a place use him.
As a friend, classmate, and teammate of Pipeline 9 members Kahlee
Hamler and Joshua Ross, there's a good chance Johnson makes his
way to Michigan's campus for a game this fall and if he does,
he'll be on the radar of the staff as a potential prospect to
watch.
