Jordan Morgan to play professionally in Rome

Former Michigan center Jordan Morgan will start his professional basketball career in Rome with Virtus Roma in Rome, Italy. The recent graduate played summer ball with the Minnesota Timberwolves after averaging 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 24 minutes per game in his senior year.
"Morgan is a solid player ... he comes from a very high level program," GM Nicola Alberani told basketitaly.it. "In fact, three of his college classmates were selected to the NBA Draft this year. For a number of reasons, he did not get the exposure he deserved because he is a team player willing to sacrifice. He has impressive qualities as a person, and not surprisingly he was captain at the University of Michigan."

Added coach Luke Dalmonte: "This is a very intriguing signing, a rookie debuting as a professional with experience at a high quality school. He's a dynamic center with a positive attitude, and selfless. He knows how to play the game and is great in the pick and roll."
Morgan said he couldn't wait to get started.
"I'm lucky to start my career as a professional with a team as historic and prestigious as Virtus, in a lovely city like Rome," he said. "I'm excited for the team we're putting together, and I can not wait to meet my new teammates and to take the court."
