The pace of play in the NBA is something that former Michigan guard Kobe Bufkin admits surprised him as he made his summer league debut with the Atlanta Hawks in an 80-76 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Bufkin finished his debut with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. He also added eight turnovers were he was tasked in guarding opposing point guards and bringing the ball up the court, which hasn't been something he's been tasked to do during Hawks' practice, as he has primarily been the off-guard.

In a postgame interview via atlhawksfans on YouTube, Bufkin was honest about his performance being thrown in as the point guard.

"Probably just the pace and decision-making," Bufkin said. "The game has gotta slow down... I plan on it happening the next game."

He also addressed the turnovers he had in the game as well.

"I feel like we, myself especially included, had a lot of turnovers and careless mistakes," he said.

Hawks return to summer league action on Sunday, July 9, as it takes on the Denver Nuggets.
