Michigan has another addition to its 2018 class in Brooklyn native Adrien Nunez.
Nunez pledged to U-M after an outstanding weekend visit.
Head coach John Beilein saw Nunez tear it up at an open gym in late September and traveled back to watch him again before the visit. It was enough to earn him an official visit and an offer, one he didn't wait to jump on.
Shooting is the best part of his game, he acknowledged, but his athleticism and physicality continue to improve. He’s a high ceiling guy, yet he went into July with no offers.
That changed after an outstanding showing during AAU play in Las Vegas. There’s where Beilein first saw him, and he wasn’t alone. Texas A&M, Penn State and Boston College also offered.
Michigan was the one he was waiting for.
“It just checks all the boxes,” he said. “It’s the No. 1 public university in the country, and they just won Big Ten. Coach B. is Coach B., a great coach. He’s one of my favorite coaches. It’s the whole package.”
