The Wolverine has learned that Michigan assistant basketball coach Billy Donlon has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Northwestern basketball program.

During the one year Donlon was a coach at Michigan the team went 26-12 overall and won the Big Ten Tournament. Michigan brought Donlon in for his reputation as a defensive coach, and the team ranked No. 45 in scoring defense in 2016-17. Prior to joining the Wolverine coaching staff under John Beilein, Donlon spent 10 years with Wright State, spending his final six years as the head coach.
