Michigan has notched another victory on the recruiting trail.
A week after landing five commitment, the Wolverines continued to build momentum by reeling in a verbal pledge from three-star 2022 Gooding (Idaho) High tight end Colston Loveland.
Loveland committed to Michigan over offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado, LSU, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah and others.
Michigan extended an offer to Loveland in April and really turned up the heat on him this summer.
Loveland kicked off his June with official visits to Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon State and was set to use his final trip of the month on Colorado. However, Michigan convinced him to make his way to Ann Arbor instead and blew him away.
Loveland informed the U-M staff of his intentions to commit before leaving campus and made it public a few days later.
Loveland is the second tight end commit in Michigan's 2022 recruiting class, joining fellow three-star recruit Marlin Klein. With two tight ends onboard, Michigan is likely done with recruiting the position.
Overall, Michigan holds 13 commitments this cycle. The Wolverines will look to continue to add to that with a couple of key decisions coming in July.
Over his last two high school seasons, Loveland has caught 160 passes for 1,963 yards and 19 touchdowns.
At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, Loveland is ranked as the No. 18 tight end in the country, per Rivals.com.
