Michigan has landed one of the gems in its 2017 recruiting class. Five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon has chosen the Wolverines over Alabama, Georgia and others.

Solomon made his pick live on ESPNU.

The nation's No. 2 defensive tackle pledged to Michigan over the summer, but de-committed before rejoining the class on National Signing Day.

He is U-M’s third five-star in the class, joining linebacker Jordan Anthony of IMG Academy in Florida and Detroit Cass Tech wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. The Wolverines have never landed three five-star prospects in the same class during the Rivals era, which dates back to 2002.

"It feels real good. It's just a weight lifted off my shoulders," he told ESPNU after making his announcement. "… Really it was just the way they talked to me, they didn't talk to me like I was a piece; they talked to me like I was truly family. That really brought me in."

Head coach Jim Harbaugh's message resonated with Solomon.

"Basically they just told me if I work hard, if I am dedicated to it like I have been in high school, I could have a starting spot or get in the rotation," he said. "I'm willing to work hard, and that really drove me."

Watch for more on this development in the hours to come, along with film of his pledge, highlights, audio and more.
