Michigan redshirt freshman quarterback Brandon Peters isn't going anywhere.

We spoke with his father, David Peters, in the wake of Ole Miss sophomore quarterback Shea Patterson announcing his commitment to the Wolverines, who confirmed his son loves Michigan.

"Brandon welcomes competition," Peters said. "If you don’t welcome it then why would you play a sport. He loves U-M and is preparing along with the team to play in the Outback Bowl. Then get ready to compete in the spring. If you know Coach [Harbaugh] he will always push boys with competition.

"Why would he leave?"

Michigan is expected to have a competition between Patterson, Peters, and freshman Dylan McCaffrey for the starting quarterback job next season. Incoming quarterback recruits Joe Milton and Kevin Doyle will also be on the team.
