Michigan fans felt the angst, seeing tight end Jake Butt hit the turf with a knee injury in the Orange Bowl. He's bounced back in strong fashion, signing a four-year contract with the Denver Broncos
The deal, according to Mile High Report, will be around $3.1 million, with a modest signing bonus for Butt of $300,000. The report hints that Butt might not play this season, working his way back from injury.
That doesn't fit with the history of the Mackey Award winner as the nation's best tight end in 2016. Butt overcame an offseason knee injury before to perform the following fall.
He finished second on the team in receiving last year with 46 catches for 546 yards and four touchdowns. Butt wound up Michigan's all-time leader in catches and receiving yards among tight ends.
Here is the full report on the signing.
