Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian five-star strongside defensive end Christopher Hinton announced via Twitter that he has committed to Michigan.

The 6-5, 265-pound Hinton is one of the most coveted prospects in the country coming in at No. 3 in the 2019 national rankings. He and his younger brother, 2020 offensive tackle Myles Hinton, have been to Michigan a few times in the past but his commitment comes just a week after he was unable to make to Ann Arbor for the BBQ.

On July 22, Hinton released a top six consisting of Georgia, Stanford, North Carolina, Michigan, Clemson and Ohio State. For Michigan to beat out the hometown Bulldogs, the defending national champion Tigers and rival Buckeyes is a HUGE win on the recruiting trail.

With Hinton in the fold, Michigan is off to a ridiculous start in 2019. Hinton joins Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star outside linebacker Charles Thomas, Akron (Ohio) Hoban four-star offensive guard Nolan Rumler and Louisville (Ky.) Trinity four-star weakside defensive end Stephen Herron. Thomas committed in late June while the other three have committed within the past week.
