Welschof just picked up his Michigan offer last week and decided that Michigan would give him a better chance to get to the NFL than Georgia Tech. He camped at U-M earlier this summer and looked fantastic while going through drills along side players like freshman Luiji Vilain, fifth-year senior Mo Hurst and even super sophomore Rashan Gary. At 6-6, 250 pounds, Welschof didn't look out of place at all. With a couple of years at Michigan under the tutelage of Greg Mattison and Don Brown, he could really blossom into a star.

He's expected to sign his letter of intent today and officially become a part of the program. It's likely that he'll enroll early as he's already done with the German equivalent of high school.

Welschof is commit No. 19 for Michigan in the 2018 class and brings U-M's team ranking up to No. 15 in the country according to Rivals.com.
