Kansas City (Mo.) Park Hill wide receiver Ronnie Bell discretely announced via Twitter that he had committed to Michigan.

Bell just picked up his Michigan offer a couple of days ago after he announced via Twitter that he would be pursuing football instead of basketball at the next level. The 6-1, 170-pounder had been committed to Missouri State for hoops but realized that he might have a higher ceiling on the gridiron.

Michigan was Bell's first offer so a commitment isn't exactly shocking but the fact that U-M was the only school to extend an offer to play football is a bit surprising. Throughout his prep career Bell had focused on basketball year round and never attended football camps or combines. That certainly affected his reputation on the recruiting trail but Michigan doesn't pursue players like this very often.

Bell is commit No. 18 for Michigan in the 2018 class and didn't change U-M's team ranking as an unranked prospect. The 18-man class still sits at No. 16 nationally.
