Bradenton (Fla.) Braden River three-star strongside defensive end Taylor Upshaw announced via Twitter that he has flipped from Florida to Michigan.
The 6-5, 240-pounder just picked up his Michigan offer in the wake of Jim McElwain being fired and immediately viewed U-M as a potential contender. He rolled into town for an official visit for the Ohio State game and committed almost immediately.
Michigan now has two defensive ends committed in the 2018 class in Upshaw and Dearborn (Mich.) Divine Child four-star Aidan Hutchinson. The Michigan staff is still recruiting several other defensive linemen at multiple positions including Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy four-star weakside defensive end Jayson Oweh, Baltimore St. Frances four-star weakside defensive end Eyabi Anoma, Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep four-star strongside defensive end Tyler Friday and Concord (N.C.) High four-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge are all still on U-M's board. Anoma and Friday are also in Ann Arbor this weekend and Sandidge plans to visit in January.
