Michigan Loses Viramontes

Norco (Calif.) three-star athlete Victor Viramontes has decommitted from Michigan. The 6-0, 214-pounder is a dual-threat quarterback, but could project to multiple positions in college.

Viramontes is the No. 52 senior in California. During his senior year, he completed 143 of 246 passes (58.1 percent) for 2,078 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also had 151 rushing attempts for 1,086 yards (7.2 yards per carry) and 15 touchdowns, plus one receiving score. Viramontes led Norco High School to an 8-3 record.
He committed to Michigan just days after receiving an offer from the Wolverines at the Northern California satellite camp in Fresno. U-M offered him the opportunity to start his college career at quarterback, though it's likely that his long-term future was at H-back or linebacker.
