2016 Projection
Though he's likely to play linebacker in college, Gil is currently safety-sized (and was initially projected to play that position in college). He'll likely take a redshirt year to build mass and physically prepare for that position at the next level. He's played a hybrid linebacker position at the high school level, so the mental side of the game should be easy for him to adjust to, and he should get on the field in his second year on campus.
They Said It
Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Rob Cassidy: "Gil is a bit of a tweener because of his size, but he is the type of hard-nosed player that Jim Harbaugh will like. He is a hard-hitter and was always around the ball for a Flanagan defense that was really good."
Flanagan head coach Devin Bush Sr.: Devin is a guy that has a high football IQ; he's tenacious and smart. He’s versatile and can play multiple positions. He plays with energy, swag and confidence.”
