There was no football in Massachusetts this fall.
But that doesn’t mean the grind was any different for Louis Hansen. The Rivals100 Needham (Mass.) St. Sebastian’s tight end worked hard in the weight room and even got in a few padded practices with his team.
“The football season was tough,” Hansen said. “Every time something got shut down, we got a little bit of hope before something else got shut down. Not having any real games allowed me to stay in the gym more than I would have during a regular season. I just continued to get bigger and stronger. We did eventually throw on the pads, so I got used to hitting again.”
Hansen committed to Michigan in April over offers from Boston College, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and a number of other major programs thanks in large part to his relationships with U-M tight ends coach Sherrone Moore and area recruiter Don Brown.
While Michigan has had some ups and downs this season and other schools have continued to reach out, Hansen made it clear that he remains fully committed to the Wolverines.
“I’m 100 percent locked in,” Hansen said. “You can make that the headline. I’m not going anywhere.”
