Jim Harbaugh:

“Coach Bruce Elliott coaches my daughter Addie’s field hockey team. I don’t know if he’s ever lost a game in the last four or five years. Addie said he’s the best coach in the world, including all sports. [My other daughter] Katie chimed in and said, ‘what about Daddy?’ and Addie said Dad is good at coaching football.”

Jim Harbaugh, on his biggest takeaways from Saturday's game:

“[Sophomore fullback] Ben Mason — an object in motion stays in motion until it’s acted upon. He’s 258 pounds right now and is hard to bring down when he gets moving. We were happy with the outcome in every phase of Saturday’s game. I thought we improved, but we’re still looking to get better in every phase. Before you can be known as a great team, you have to be known as a physical team.”

Jim Harbaugh, on the special teams' outstanding play:

“[Sophomore safety] Brad Hawkins played well and made a great block for [sophomore wideout] Donovan [Peoples-Jones] on his punt return. [Fifth-year senior running back] Joe Hewlett is having a great year on special teams as well. [Redshirt freshman cornerback] Hunter Reynolds surfaced and got a lot of stickers, and graded out well as a corner on defense. [Sophomore safety] J’Marick Woods and [fifth-year senior fullback] Jared Wangler are also playing well on special teams. [Sophomore cornerback] Ambry Thomas has been great as a gunner and as a returner.”

Jim Harbaugh, on Devin Bush:

“[Junior linebacker] Devin [Bush] is playing at an All-American level. I don’t watch all the other teams and linebackers, but it’s hard to imagine anyone playing better than he is. The speed and physicality is amazing — he gets fourth down stops in the holes, and looks faster than running backs when he runs down option plays.”

Jim Harbaugh:

“Northwestern has been consistently good. We’re watching tape of them, and we’re seeing they’re a physical team up front. Their linebackers are all downhill, which is what you expect from a Pat Fitzgerald team. They also have an experienced quarterback [in fifth-year senior Clayton Thorson].”

Jim Harbaugh, on what makes Michigan such an easy place to recruit to:

“It’s the University, the town and the people. I don’t consider myself a great recruiter, but Michigan is a powerhouse academically and athletically. I think it’s the best University in the world — that’s what James Earl Jones says, so it must be true.”

The Sklar Brothers:

“[Recruiting coordinator] Matt Dudek has the face and the body type for standup comedy. He has a face for podcasts.”

The Sklar Brothers:

“We haven’t come back to Better Caul Saul yet [after appearing on it for an episode], but we’re not dead yet either. If you’re not dead, you can always come back.”
