With 6:37 remaining and Michigan going for two to go up 35-14, Maryland threw up its flag … not the ugliest state flag in the history of the United States, but the white flag of surrender.

Fullback Ben Mason was in the backfield, the game was all but over and everyone in the stadium knew what was coming. He got his head of steam, and the Terrapins’ defense — well, they turtled, allowing Mason to run untouched into the end zone for the two points.

He had so much momentum that he had to slow himself before running into the south end zone brick wall. The way he’s playing, there’s no guarantee who would have gotten the worse of that collision.
