Michigan picked up a commitment from West Bloomfield (Mich.) High three-star inside linebacker Cornell Wheeler and landed a solid, heady kid, perfect for the middle of a defense in the process. Rivals.com Midwest recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt has watched Wheeler develop over the last couple of years and sees the 6-0, 229-pounder as a very good fit for Don Brown's defense.
