We'll have our film review tomorrow, but some thoughts during a long ride home ...
First off, great win, regardless how bad Wisconsin is — and that's a dysfunctional team with one of the worst offensive lines we've seen all year. Still, this is a team that really outplayed Penn State in the opener — more on first games in a minute — and had Notre Dame on the ropes before a fourth quarter kick return for a score turned the tables.
But the defense is solid, and if not for some poor offensive execution in the first half and the decision to squib kick rather than kick deep before the half — plus some poor defense on the last five of the first stanza, of course — this game would have been over at halftime.
Also, taking control in the second half after losing momentum the way they did was impressive. They didn't let it faze them, and that's different than past years ...
