The first College Football Playoff rankings came out Tuesday night. The Michigan Wolverines (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) are currently ranked No. 14 in both the AP top-25 and the Amway Coaches Poll. The College Football Playoff committee agreed with both of the other rankings, and has U-M at No. 14 through ten weeks, as well.

The Big Ten has six teams ranked in this week's edition of the CFP rankings, including two teams that are in the top four and, if the season ended now, would be in the four-team playoff. Penn State (8-0, 5-0) and Ohio State (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) rank No. 4 and No. 1, respectively. The two teams will play on Nov. 23.
U-M has wins over No. 18 ranked Iowa (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) and No. 15 Notre Dame (6-2), with both victories coming at Michigan Stadium. The Maize and Blue beat Iowa by a score of 10-3 and blew out Notre Dame, 45-14.
The Wolverines' two losses both come to top-15 ranked teams. Penn State at No. 4 and Wisconsin (6-2, 3-2) are U-M's only blemishes on the season.
U-M is the third-highest ranked team that has two losses. Both No. 10 Florida (7-2, 4-2 SEC) and No. 12 Auburn (7-2, 4-2 SEC) rank ahead of the Wolverines.
As of now, the only ranked opponent U-M has left on its schedule is top-ranked Ohio State. The Wolverines and Buckeyes will end the regular season playing at Michigan Stadium on Nov. 30.
