The Latest: Simmons plays his high school ball about 200 yards from Michigan Stadium, so there's naturally a hometown affinity. In fact, one of the reasons Michigan dragged its feet (comparatively) in offering him was wanting to be 100% sure they'd be ready to take him at the time of the offer. That some national big boys are already in the mix could mean that he'll take his time even if he ultimately decides that Michigan is right for him, but the Maize and Blue start in strong position.
