Notable NFL Names, Eight Head Coaches Pack Michigan's Pro Day

Tweets and pictures from begun to emerge from Michigan's Pro Day this morning, and there are several notable NFL names in attendance while every team is reportedly represented. No fewer than eight current head coaches and a trio of general managers are present, which led NFL Network's Andrew Groover to tweet: "Basically the whole NFL is here."

Some of the notable names spotted at the event that saw 19 former U-M players work out include:

• Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia

• Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert

• Jets head coach Todd Bowles

• Ravens head coach John Harbaugh

• Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, who was joined by general manager Bob Quinn and several position coaches, including the defensive line, wide receiver and defensive back mentors.

• Titans head coach Mike Mularkey and general manager Jon Robinson

• Saints head coach Sean Payton

• Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis

• Dolphins executive vice president Mike Tannenbaum

• Texans defensive line coach Anthony Weaver

• Bears defensive backs coach Ed Donatell

NFL Network's Mike Mayock also interviewed head coach Jim Harbaugh (video), and asked if the coach had mixed feelings because while it's good to send players to the NFL, that means there is a lot of talent going out the door.

"We don't feel like we're losing them," Harbaugh said. "The overwhelming feeling is you just have so much good feeling and pride because you know how hard the guys have worked. It's what player development looks like. To have so many that are going through the process, that is such a joy. They have been working for this for years. To have the great turnout — all of the teams, so many head coaches and general managers — it's happening, it's exciting."

The full quote of what the record-setting tight end told Mayock (via NFL.com): "I'm not rushing anything, but I am ahead of schedule. I'm doing everything the trainers are asking me to do. I'm right on track. Timetable-wise, it could be as early as mid-July. That would be six months, but it could be as late as October 10th, which would put me at nine months, could be anywhere between then."

Chesson timed a 4.47 40-yard dash at the combine, so that would be a significant improvement (although it's worth noting that the combine is electronically timed, while pro day relies on hand timing).
