Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage inside linebacker Drake Thomas announced via Twitter that he would be checking out Michigan this weekend.

The 6-0, 225-pounder seems to be quite high on the Wolverines as evidenced by his pinned tweet and overall attitude toward U-M and the upcoming visit.

"I want to see just how they do everything and see all of the coaching styles and get a feel for what they are all about," Thomas explained. "I've been talking to Coach [Chris] Partridge and he said that on Friday I'll get to tour everything and see campus and all that and then on Saturday I'll get to come check out practice and see how everything is run and how things work."

Michigan was the first program to offer Thomas but since then he's reeled in six others including both North Carolina and North Carolina State. Getting him on campus early is a step in the right direction if he's going to be a major target in the 2019 class.

With a two-day visit coming up, Thomas will have a great opportunity to see both the football and academic side of what it's like being a student athlete at U-M.
