Michigan already has one commit (offensive lineman Ben Bredeson) and several targets bound for the Under Armour All-American Game this January, but there's a chance the Maize and Blue can add another representative.
Dudley (Mass.) Shepherd Hill Regional tight end Sean McKeon is involved in a fan vote to make his way into the game, and is hoping that he'll be able to win out and ultimately be selected for the game, Jan. 2 in Orlando.
"I think it'd be a great experience," he said. "I'm a good enough player to play in it, so why not me?"
The 6-4, 230-pounder is hoping that one factor can work out in his favor in a big way - his commitment to Michigan. He'll need a boost: fellow Northeast tight end (and Boston College commit) Scooter Harrington has a commanding 66%-34% lead as of this morning.
"I've got all the Michigan fans trying to help me out - it's the biggest fanbase in college football. Hopefully I can get in."
McKeon could also use the chance to prove himself: playing in a run-heavy offense, he caught only 22 passes (more than the rest of his teammates combined) for 295 yards and two scores this season. Thanks in part to a lack of production and exposure - due to limited game film as a receiver - he's just a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com.
After impressing at Michigan's summer camp, going against some of the best players in the nation during the week in Orlando would give him a chance to prove he's deserving of a much loftier ranking.
