Tobias Merriweather is taking a methodical approach to his recruiting process.
The Rivals250 wide receiver out of Vancouver (Wash.) Union still has three official visits remaining and no exact decision timeline. With the dead period here, Merriweather plans to take a step back and analyze his options.
“I used officials on Stanford and Notre Dame,” Merriweather said. “I know I’m going to take one to Michigan. I’m still not sure on others. At the end of the day, I want to go to a school with good academics and a good football program. Distance isn’t really a factor for me. Some Pac-12 schools might throw the ball a lot, but they don’t have what I’m looking for after my four years of college.”
Merriweather is considered a Notre Dame lead by some, but Stanford made a strong impression on his weekend official visit, and Michigan has been turning up the heat on him since offering a couple of weeks ago.
While Michigan just entered the race, Merriweather made it clear that the Wolverines will have every chance to recruit him and ultimately win him over
