Rodriguez Out: Press conference set for 12:30

Michigan athletic director David Brandon will announce the firing of head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff at a 12:30 press conference, TheWolverine.com has learned. Brandon and Rodriguez met this morning after meeting for four hours yesterday.
Rodriguez finished 15-22 in his three years at Michigan. His buyout reportedly went down to $2.5 million on January 1.

Stanford head coach and former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh was thought to be the leading candidate to replace Rodriguez, but sources told TheWolverine.com Tuesday he was unlikely to take the job if it opened, more likely to head to the NFL.
San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke is believed by many to be U-M's next option.
