Belleville (Mich.) High offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs is a very impressive looking prospect for being in the tenth grade. The 6-4, 270-pounder won the majority of his reps over the weekend at the Elite Big Man Camp in Wixom, Mich. and looks like he'll be one of the more coveted recruits in the entire midwest over the next couple of years.

Strengths

Strength is one of Dobbs' biggest strengths, actually. He's a big youngster but is already very solid and put together for a sophomore. He has long arms and a powerfully built lower body. He also moves very well and shows good burst coming out of his stance. His initial punch is very solid and he shows the ability to learn things quickly for a young lineman.

Areas To Improve

I personally believe Dobbs is better suited as a strongside defensive end or even as an ultra-athletic three tech. He's effective at tackle in high school but he doesn't have the prototypical size even for a sophomore for an offensive lineman. Like most young linemen, he could stand to improve his technique in pass blocking. He gets by right now because he's stronger and more athletic than just about anyone he faces.

Dobbs already has an offer list that most coveted seniors would be pleased with and he's not even finished with his sophomore year of high school. Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin, among others, have already extended a scholarship opportunity to the talented tenth grader. Right now Michigan State and Ohio State seem to be putting in the most effort but Michigan will remain involved and will be right there when the time comes for him to decide. Dobbs could end up staying closer to home with one of the midwest powers but he'll be able to go just about anywhere he wants to by the time he's done with high school.

He's taking a visit to Kentucky on Feb. 25 and would like to hear from Florida State, Clemson, Ole Miss and Notre Dame at some point.
