Sights And Sounds From Michigan's Loaded 'Victors Weekend'

This past weekend was a whirlwind. Michigan football hosted nearly 20 official visitors and several unofficial visitors for 'Victors Weekend,' the Wolverines' biggest recruiting weekend of the June period.

The Michigan coaching staff and recruiting department held tours of the facilities and the U-M campus, film sessions, individual meetings with coaches, photoshoots and more.

The Wolverines earned two commitments and gained ground on other targets over the course of the weekend.

Here are some social media sights and sounds from the weekend (from recruits who posted).

COMMITS

RB CJ Stokes, Columbia (S.C.) Hammond

Stokes decided to pull the trigger and commit to Michigan on his visit, right then and there.

LB Aaron Alexander, Belleville (Mich.) High

Alexander earned an offer from linebackers coach George Helow and the Michigan staff after impressing at satellite camps in Big Rapids and Nashville this month. He didn't wait long before making the jump and pledging during his unofficial visit just hours after Stokes joined the fold.

WR Tyler Morris, La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy

Morris committed to Michigan in June but hadn't been in the U-M facilities since visiting with current freshman quarterback J.J. McCarthy, a former teammate of Morris', during his recruiting process.

OL Connor Jones, Monument (Colo.) Palmer

Jones committed to Michigan while Ed Warinner was the offensive line coach, and has remained 100 percent solid through the transition to Sherrone Moore, who is now the co-offensive coordinator and line coach. Jones got to see his future home and also put his recruiting hat on, trying to bring others into the class.

2022 TARGETS

DL Walter Nolen, Cordova (Tenn.) St. Benedict

Michigan has gone all in for Nolen, who took a self-guided tour of Ann Arbor in the spring, having gone to Memphis to see him at a satellite camp the first day the dead period was lifted (June 1). The Wolverines' staff finally got a chance to impress him in person, and it appears he and his family enjoyed their weekend stay. Michigan appeared to pull out all the stops, even having Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, older brother of U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh, there to vouch for the Maize and Blue.

DL Justice Finkley, Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt Trussville

Finkley's entire family — including his little brother — received the red-carpet treatment from Harbaugh and Co.

DL Mario Eugenio, Tampa (Fla.) Gaither

An impressive edge rusher, Eugenio made the trip from Florida and finally got some face time with the Michigan staff. He also got to reunite with his friend, 2022 defensive tackle target Deone Walker, who actually helped the U-M staff identify Eugenio before offering him.

ATH Dillon Bell, Houston (Texas) Kinkaid

The Michigan staff, which has seen Bell at multiple satellite camps this month, loves Bell as either a running back — where they were originally recruiting him — or a wide receiver. Hart and offensive coordinator / wide receivers coach Josh Gattis are leading the charge.

S D’Arco Perkins-McAllister, Nashville (Tenn.) Stratford

Perkins-McCallister was recruited by Michigan defensive passing game coordinator Steve Clinkscale while the latter was at Kentucky, and their bond remains strong, while safeties coach Ron Bellamy remains heavily involved. He finally made his first visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend.

DL Joseph Adedire, Mansfield (Texas) Summit

Like Eugenio, Adedire is building a strong bond with defensive analyst Ryan Osborn, who is taking a hands-on role with recruiting edge rushers.
