The Pylon 7v7 circuit continued in Philadelphia this weekend with a highly competitive tournament that featured some of the best club teams in the country.
Here are the picks for best on each side of the ball.
QB Tahj Bullock, Air Sports Group (2021) — Bullock is coming off a season where he led his team to a state championship in arguably the toughest conference in New Jersey. Bullock hit the underneath very well and was able to stretch the field. He recently picked up an offer from UCLA.
QB Ah-Shaun Davis, NLG (2021) — Davis throws an effortless deep ball. He was able to hit on several explosive plays throughout the weekend. Davis was the starting quarterback for the No.2 NLG team that made a run on Sunday. Holds offers from Rutgers, Bowling Green and UMASS.
QB Zach Trainor, MaxEx (2021) — Trainor split reps with another quarterback for the top MaxEx team but when it came to crunch time Trainor was the guy. He throws the ball accuracy and good velocity. He was extremely sharp on Sunday and helped lead MaxEx to the finals.
QB Devin Kargman, NLG (2022) – Kargman was the best quarterback at the event from start to finish. He led his NLG team to scoring drives on all but possession throughout the tournament. He distributed the ball to different levels of the field with plenty of touch. He holds early offers from West Virginia, Texas A&M and Rutgers.
WR Yasiir Daniel, CTC (2021) — Daniels made highlight catch after highlight catch for CTC. When in the red zone he was a difficult matchup for opposing teams. He is a prospect to keep and out for in the Rochester area.
WR Carnell Davis, NLG (2021) – Davis was NLG’s most reliable target on Sunday once the single elimination tournament began. He caught the ball very cleanly and ran crisp routes. He is considered a Rutgers lean at the moment and an announcement could be on the horizon.
WR Amari Clark, NLG (2022) — Clark was the go-to guy for NLG all weekend long. Him and Kargman have great chemistry as they are teammates for New Jersey state champions in Woodrow Wilson. He holds early offers from Baylor, Florida and Boston College to name a few.
DB Will Johnson, MaxEx (2022) — Johnson was by far the best defensive back at the tournament from start to finish. He consistently was tasked with guarding the opposing team’s top receiver. Split time at corner and safety in the secondary.
DB Tony Grimes, Virginia Thoroughbreds (2021) – Grimes only participated on Sunday due to a commitment with his track team on Saturday. His presence was felt early and often upon his arrival on Sunday. He is currently ranked the No.1 cornerback in the nation.
ATH Michael Williams, MaxEx (2022) — Williams really began to separate himself from the pack on Sunday in the pass catching game. He made several leaping grabs from the slot and was able to use his large frame to body defenders. He is strongly considering the in-state Michigan Wolverines.
