Only a couple Michigan commitments have yet to begin their seasons, and the majority of the 2015 and 2016 Wolverine pledges are in action this weekend. Previews for their games, who we'll see, and more.
Commit SchedulesSaginaw (Mich.) Heritage wide receiver Brian Cole: Saginaw Heritage will try to improve to 2-0 on Sep. 5 as they host Powers Catholic.

Where We'll BeFriday
Tim Sullivan: Downers Grove (Ill.) North v. Darien (Ill.) Hinsdale South
"Downers Grove North boasts Wisconsin tight end commit David Edwards at quarterback. He picked up some Michigan interest early in the process, but wasn't willing to wait around for it to materialize into an offer. Hinsdale South has the headliner in this game, however. Defensive end Josh King is one of the Midwest's top 2016 prospects, the No. 50 overall player and No. 3 strongside end nationally. The 6-6, 250-pounder contributes on offense at tight end, but will ply his trade on D at the next level. He's a terror off the edge there, and is hoping to set a school record with 16 sacks this year (he was shut out in his season opener last weekend, so he'll be hungry."
Tim Sullivan: Downers Grove (Ill.) South v. Hillside (Ill.) Proviso West
"Downers Grove South offensive lineman Erik Swenson was Michigan's first commitment in the 2016 class, and he's been more impressive in game action than camps - an encouraging sign for the future. He's big and powerful, and is capable of dominating opposing defensive linemen. We should see more of the same this weekend."
Brandon Brown: Detroit King v. Detroit Central
Two Michigan State commits will suit up for Detroit King when they take on Detroit Central. Senior offensive lineman Kyonta Stallworth and fellow senior linebacker Tyriq Thompson both received Michigan interest, Thompson more so with an offer, but eventually both chose the Spartans. 2016 wide receiver Donnie Corley may be the main attraction though as he tries to solidify his status as top wide receiver in the state. Throwing the ball to Corley will be junior quarterback Mikale Washington, a transfer from California, who is also getting some division one attention.
Brandon Brown: Southfield (Mich.) @ Rochester (Mich.) Adams
Southfield is a loaded team looking to rebound after suffering a tough loss in their season opener. Southfield running back Matt Falcon is trying to prove to everyone that he is one of the top junior running backs in the country and is deserving of big time offers. The 6-1, 210-pounder holds one from Ohio State already and that has put them in the driver seat for his services. On the Adams side 2017 quarterback Kyle Wood is starting to garner attention from the in-state Wolverines and Spartans. At just 6-0 and 170 pounds he'll need to sprout up a bit more before big time programs feel comfortable offering him.
Saturday
Tim Sullivan: East St. Louis (Ill.) @ Lombard (Ill.) Montini Catholic
East St. Louis boasts the nation's top 2015 four-star in defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. He'll be a load for the Montini Catholic offensive line (while also contributing on his own team's offensive line). Teammate Jeff Thomas, a 2017 wide receiver, already holds offers from Michigan and several others, and is hopefully healthy enough to play after getting banged up in his team's season-opener last week. Montini Catholic is led by Indiana receiver commit Leon Thornton, who will get service from junior quarterback Justin Blake."
