What Has Changed With Michigan's Jordan Jerseys?

It's finally here. Michigan has unveiled their new Jordan uniforms and the world has exploded, basically. We have read Ohio State beat writers and fans saying even they would commit to the Wolverines if it meant they could rock these new threads. But, some things have definitely changed. What has exactly? Lets break that down.

Home Uniform

Take a second and breathe after looking at the new kits. Not much different here, just a little sleeker and more modern. Michigan keeps the same color scheme, as people would chase them down with pitchforks had they not, and overall much is the same. The little holes in the Adidas jerseys are real noticeable, they're not at all with the Jordan. The Maize is much more true and noticeably so, the too-bright yellow Adidas colors vanish with the new Amarillo-colored Jordan pants. The Jordan logo rests on the left of the jersey, just above the number, instead of right in the center like the Adidas logo.

What has changed the most though is the font of the numbers and material of the uniforms themselves. The font is almost identical to the font the Chicago Bulls used in the 90's when Michael Jordan played, with a splash of 2016 in there. It's modern and it's clean.

The material seems more athletic and as if they will breathe a lot better for the players. As aforementioned, the tiny holes are not very noticeable and the small details such as the collar's stripe and the details on the side of the jersey make this uniform glow - in a good way.

Away Uniform

You can't see the side of the leg in the Jordan picture, but the stripe remains the same. Again, what changed was the amarillo shade of yellow is different than Adidas' yellow they went with. The biggest changes with the away uniforms, similar to the home ones, is the font has changed and the Jordan logo is again on the left instead of the center. A pretty big shift is the numbers on the side of the shoulder with Adidas, are now on the top of the shoulder. Another noticeable change is the stripe on the shoulder is a little different. It's a little smaller and up higher off the shoulder. They also seem to blend the colors a lot better.

Helmet

The biggest change of all with the new Jordan look is easily the helmets. You can't mess with arguably the best helmet in football, but you can make it safer and change the material - and that's exactly what Michigan did. The second Jordan helmet picture shows the improvements with the safety of the helmet with the new concussion dilemma. There is also a block-M on the front of the helmet now that is maize with a blue background, instead of a white background with the block M. But, the most noticeable change is hard to notice in pictures but easy to notice in person. The blue part of the helmet is not only a darker shade of blue, but it's also a matte material. The world-famous wings are now glossy, making them stick out and glow over the darker shade of matte blue beneath the wings.

Cleats

Everything changed with the cleats. A little bit of a boring, dry black and white Adidas cleat. There wasn't much too them and they weren't really considered part of the uniform. Jordan's cleats immediately pop with the huge maize (amarillo) Jordan silhouette on the side of the shoe. Add the elephant print in there, the blue canvas and the yellow sole and that's a cleat that stands out - big time.

Now that the wait is finally over, Michigan fans can purchase their brand-new Jordan football jerseys on August 6, along with shoes. There's no word on if the cleats will be available.

Michigan will don the home blues against Hawaii on September 3 when they open at home inside the Big House.

Talk about it inside The Fort.
