The Michigan Wolverines’ football program saw five of its incoming freshmen play in January’s All-American Bowl in San Antonio, in Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne four-star cornerback Darion Green-Warren, Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln Way East four-star receiver A.J. Henning, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic four-star safety Jordan Morant, Delran (N.J.) High three-star athlete R.J. Moten and Milton (Mass.) Academy four-star linebacker Kalel Mullings.
The fan base, however, did not know Green-Warren had already signed his letter of intent with the Maize and Blue heading into the January showdown, instead deciding to make it known publicly during the game itself.

To say the four-star cornerback was a big addition to the Wolverines’ No. 11-ranked recruiting class would be an understatement, with the California native checking in at No. 123 overall nationally and standing as the fourth highest rated prospect Michigan signed in 2020.
“His willingness to compete is what impresses me most about him,” Mil’von James said, who is the head coach at Inglewood High School in California and served as Green-Warren’s defensive coordinator for the West squad at the All-American Bowl.
“When we got there, Darion was always at the front of the line and ready to go, while setting a good example for the other defensive backs on the team. He wasn’t afraid of the moment at all, and it was all about being ready to go with him — I was impressed by that.
“He’s not the biggest defensive back in the world, but you wouldn’t know that by the way he plays the game. His experience is his biggest strength out there on the field, because he has played in some really big games in high school at Mater Dei and then this past season at Narbonne.
"He’s gone against so many great receivers in the past.”
