Observations
— Michigan remained third in the country in yards allowed per game, but what's notable is that Wisconsin — U-M's next opponent — ranks No. 1 in the category. The Wolverines allow 254.8 yards per game, while the Badgers surrender 247.6.
— After Maryland converted just 3-16 third downs on Saturday, Michigan took over the nation's best third down defense. It had been ranked third last week, allowing opponents to convert 24.3 percent of their tries, but that number was lowered to 23.7 percent.
— Redshirt freshman kicker Quinn Nordin missed his fifth field goal of the season on Saturday, dropping the Wolverines from 50th nationally in field goal percentage to 64th.
— Michigan did not turn the ball over against the Terrapins, and forced two turnovers of its own — interceptions from sophomore cornerback David Long and sophomore viper Khaleke Hudson. As a result, the Maize and Blue's turnover margin jumped from 90th to 73rd, and now sits at just -1.
