Wolverines Add Another Preferred Walkon

Michigan has kicked its preferred walkon program into full gear in the 2016 class, with three players pledging to join the program as non-scholarship players heading into today. Make that a fourth, with Grand Rapids (Mich.) West Catholic defensive/offensive lineman Carl Myers joining the fold.

Happy to announce, I'm going to further my education & athletics (football/track) at the University of Michigan! pic.twitter.com/pSNnGnGAzm— Carl Myers (@Carl_myers76) November 15, 2015
Myers is a 6-3, 260-pounder who earned his preferred walkon offer from the Maize and Blue a coupe weeks ago. Myers has visited Ann Arbor for multiple games this fall, in between leading his team to a 10-2 record to date, and a Division-5 state semifinal matchup with Lansing Catholic Central next weekend.
He also will participate in track at Michigan. He throws the shotput (personal record of 57 feet, three inches) and the discus (personal record 155 feet, five inches), and has even participated in his school's 4x100-meter relay, not the expectation for a 260-pounder.
