Michigan coaches will host lanky point guard Shakwon Barrett Friday, a 6-3 Canadian 2017 who spent some time at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. before going back to Tech Academy in Toronto.

Barrett once compared his game to former OSU standout and current NBA product Mike Conley.

“In comparison to an NBA player, I think I play the most like a Mike Conley,” he said. “I like playing fast tempo, am good with finishing or finding players in transition. In half courts I’m good with getting paint touches, collapsing defenses and finding teammates. Also like the pick and roll game.”

His film shows a guard who can get to the rim and shoot the long ball, as well.

Barrett is planning visits to Arkansas and Tulane next week and potentially others, as well.

The Wolverines have one scholarship to offer in the 2017 class and are also in on five-star big man Mohamed Bamba and others.
