Michigan features a grand total of 14 NFL Combine invitees, according to the official list on NFL.com. The Wolverines sported extensive veteran talent in 2016, and the pros took notice.
Those now-former Wolverines extended the invitation to the Combine, Feb. 28-March 6 in Indianapolis, are as follows: guard Ben Braden, tight end Jake Butt, defensive end Taco Charlton, wide receiver Jehu Chesson, cornerback Jeremy Clark, wide receiver Amara Darboh, linebacker Ben Gideon, defensive lineman Ryan Glasgow, safety Delano Hill, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, hybrid linebacker Jabrill Peppers, running back De'Veon Smith, cornerback Channing Stribling and defensive lineman Chris Wormley.
The 14 invitees not only represents a school record, it's the most of any university in the nation this year. Michigan's 14 matches the number Ohio State send to the Combine a year ago. Alabama and LSU are sending 10 players each to this year's Combine, with Clemson, Miami (Fla.) and Texas A&M featuring nine players apiece.
The on-field work schedule for the Combine is as follows:
March 3 – Running Backs, Offensive Line, Special Teams
March 4 – Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends
March 5 – Defensive Line, Linebackers
March 6 – Defensive Backs
Butt is still recovering from knee surgery after sustaining an ACL tear in the Orange. Bowl. He will still interview with teams, and be looked at in terms of how his recovery is coming along.
