Dan Enos used to be a Michigan State Spartan, but now he is expected to become a member of the Michigan football coaching staff, as we've reported over the last several weeks.

Enos played quarterback at MSU from 1987-1991 before embarking on his coaching career — which also began at MSU as a graduate assistant until 1993. As MSU's signal-caller, he was a two-year starter and threw for 13 touchdowns, 25 interceptions and 3,837 yards.

He most recently was the offensive coordinator and quarterback's coach at Arkansas under coach Bret Beilema. He coached the Razorbacks for three seasons, from 2015-2017.

Arkansas' offense ranked No. 29 in the nation in 2015, No. 54 in 2016 and No. 94 in 2017.

In scoring offense, the Razorbacks ranked No. 27 in 2015, No. 57 in 2016 and No. 61 in 2017.

Prior to that, he served as the head coach at Central Michigan University for five seasons from 2010-2014. He compiled a record of 26-36 and made two bowl games.

During his time at CMU, he tutored offensive tackle Eric Fisher, who was selected No. 1 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

He runs a balanced, pro-style offense and chose to resign from CMU to accept the Arkansas job offer.

According to Arkansas' official website, during Enos' first two seasons as coordinator, Arkansas is one of two FBS programs with a 3,000-yard passer and 1,300-yard rusher in both 2015 and 2016. The Razorbacks are the only program to accomplish the feat with a different quarterback and different running back in each of those seasons.

The 49-year old Enos is a Michigan native, born in Dearborn. He went to Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn and earned all-state honors there as a quarterback, throwing for 46 touchdowns and 5,743 yards.

He has made several other coaching stops outside of CMU and Arkansas. He spent 2006-2009 coaching quarterbacks (2006) and running backs (2007-09) at Michigan State.

In 2004-05, he was the quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati. In 2003, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at North Dakota State.

From 2000-2002, he was quarterbacks coach at Western Michigan and in 1999 was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Missouri State.

From 1997-1998, he coached the quarterbacks and wide receivers at Southern Illinois, in 1996 was offensive coordinator at Northern Michigan and from 1994-95, was offensive coordinator, wide receiver coach and quarterbacks coach at Lakeland College.

Enos is expected to coach the wide receivers, and could be named a co-offensive coordinator, depending on what other staffing changes occur.
