Rayshaun Benny is a busy dude.
The Rivals100 lineman from Oak Park (Mich.) High receives 50 text messages from college coaches around the country by the time he wakes up in the morning. A lot of them have to do with setting up video chats.
In the era of the coronavirus pandemic, virtual recruiting is at its peak. College coaches have to utilize FaceTime and Zoom to compete for top prospects. With Benny, it’s no different. On most days, he has back-to-back-to-back calls that last for half an hour.
A measured kid, Benny just released a Top 15 and is taking the process extremely slow. While all the texts and calls have been stressful, Benny hasn’t wavered from his methodical decision making process.
“I don't plan on committing soon,” Benny said. “ I definitely need to get on some more visits. This whole virus thing has messed everything up."
