On the confidence of the defense:
"We've got confidence. We're playing good. We really are playing good. We could play better, and we will play better. But we're playing well. We've had big games, and we've got wins. So we know we've got to come together. We've got six big games coming up, so we've really got to come together, practice well, and I really just come together for these next six games."
On his turnaround from last season:
"It was rough last year. We didn't finish. I didn't finish the season as I'd like to. Of course with that, all summer you're going to hear this, you're going to hear that. I tried not to pay too much attention to it. I heard, but I just tried to take that and get better. You develop thick skin from it. And really, I just try to use it as inspiration as best I could."
On facing that criticism:
"You're going to learn, and like I said, you're going to develop thick skin from it. It's something that you can't pay too much attention to it. You've got to go out and play your game. They say corners have to have short memories, and you really do. Good or bad, make a good play make a bad play; you've got to have a short memory. Go out the next play and just play as well as you can."
On if playing against top receivers last year has helped his confidence:
"I played the best. I've played great receivers. I've been there. It's a learning experience. So whoever comes in, I do my best during the week to get ready for them, and with the past experiences, I think I am ready."
On how the defense can improve:
"We've played good, but we're trying to put two halves together. We can't come out and have an okay first half and a great second half. We're trying to come together – every play, every half. We know these big games we're playing, we can't afford to not play well the first half and play the second half. It's got to be a whole game. We're playing great teams out here."
On players coming to him for help on style and music:
"I'm the man on the team for the little miscellaneous stuff. Style: 'come tie my tie up.' Come do this or do that. I help the team out. I don't know where the style came from. My mom and my dad would probably want me to say them – I'm not going to. I don't know. Something that's just innate. I don't know."
