Freshman running back Kingston Davis is planning to transfer from the University of Michigan, a source close to the program confirmed today.

Davis, a rookie out of Prattville, Ala., got two carries during the 2016 season, gaining 17 yards in Michigan's opener versus Hawaii. The 6-1, 245-pound freshman did not play following the opener.

Speculation about Davis' possible transfer cropped up over the past several weeks, but nothing concrete had come of it until this point.

Davis rushed for 1,656 yards during his senior season at Prattville, averaging 6.8 yards per carry with 19 touchdowns.
