With the recent commitments of Oakville (Conn.) St. Thomas More three-star small forward Adrien Nunez and Daytona Beach (Fla.) Father Lopez four-star center Colin Castleton, Michigan's 2018 basketball recruiting class has skyrocketed all the way to No. 6 in the country.
The class is also the second-best in the Big Ten, trailing only Michigan State's, who ranks first nationally.
Rivals uses a mathematical formula to calculate its recruiting classes, and currently has Michigan's class with 1,970 points. USC is rated one spot ahead of it, with 2,015 points.
The Big Ten as a whole is having an impressive showing, with six teams in the nation's top 15 — Michigan State at No. 1, Michigan at No. 6, Indiana at No. 9, Northwestern at No. 11, Ohio State at No. 13 and Maryland at No. 14.
East Lansing (Mich.) High four-star power forward Brandon Johns, Detroit East English Village four-star point guard David Dejulius and Mono (Ontario) Orangeville Prep four-star small forward Ignas Brazdeikis round out the rest of the Wolverines' class.
Michigan's four four-stars are tied for the second-most of any team in the nation. MSU has five four-stars, while Notre Dame is the only other team who also currently has four committed.
